Overview

Royal Lotus was built in 2005 to carry 130 guests along the Nile River in spacious suites (452 square feet) and staterooms (236 square feet) and features amenities like a pool, whirlpool and small gym with massage services. Royal Lotus is operated by Viking’s Swiss travel partner, leading hotel operator Mövenpick.

Reception/Lobby

The middle deck lobby area is a great place to get information or meet up with friends. Your Program Director’s desk is located here, so that you can easily ask questions or discuss the day’s activities. There is a small seating area, a 24-hour tea and coffee station with a fruit basket, an onboard boutique, an internet café and restrooms.

Sun Deck

Enjoy the open air while you take in 360-degree views of the Nile scenery. Stand at the railings or relax in a comfortable deck chair—shady umbrellas are available. The sun deck is adjacent to a pool, whirlpool and lounge chairs—get some sun or take a refreshing dip. There is also a small bar where you can get a soft drink or cocktail.

Restaurant

The restaurant is where all meals are served during your cruise. Because it features panoramic windows, you will not miss any of the scenery while you are dining. It seats all guests at 17 tables which vary in size, accommodating 6, 8 or 10 guests per table. The dining room is open seating, so you are free to sit where you like—a great way to make new friends. The atmosphere is casual but elegant, with high-quality table linens, china, cutlery and glassware.

Lounge/Bar

Located on the main deck, the lounge is a comfortable and attractive place to meet friends before and after meals. It boasts a large sitting area with chairs, small tables, sofas and a bar area with barstools.
